Alcohol calories were the one place none of our usual swaps did much good. A mocktail can only go so far before you start to wonder "am I just drinking juice?". When a glass of wine or a cocktail a few nights a week adds up fast, and "just drink less" is easy to say and hard to do, we were ready to find something to make a better switch.
Buzz Drops became the thing that made swapping alcohol so much easier. They're made from nano-emulsified extract, which is a fancy way of saying the molecules are very small and can mix into anything, even water. A few drops in a sparking water or one of our mocktail recipes gives you that same loose, social, unwind-after-a-long-day feeling you get from a real drink - for zero calories, no hangover, and incredible sleep.

🐢 Start Low, Go Slow
Begin with about 0.25ml (roughly 5 drops) in your first drink of the night, then wait. Effects take 15–20 minutes to show up, so adding more before then just means you'll overshoot. Most people don't need more than 1ml total in an hour. It's easy to add more later. It's not easy to undo more.
It is worth mentioning that Redwood Reserves advertises their Buzz Drops as 'flavorless', and while it didn't have much of a flavor per se, it was slightly bitter. The bitterness didn't impact the flavor of our mocktails, but we wouldn't recommend taking the drops solo since we found the bitterness to be a little unpleasant on its own.

Worth Knowing
Is this the same as cannabis?
No. Buzz Drops are made from hemp, not cannabis. Hemp and cannabis are the same plant species, but hemp is legally defined by containing less than 0.3% Delta-9 THC, which is what makes it federally legal under the 2018 Farm Bill. The extract is nano-emulsified, meaning your body absorbs it fast and efficiently, so that small amount goes a long way.
Will this show up on a drug test?
It can. Even though the THC content is low and legal, hemp-derived THC can still trigger a positive result on a standard drug test. If you're subject to testing for work or any other reason, skip these.
Does it actually taste like anything?
It's mostly flavorless, though you may notice a slight bitterness on its own. Mixed into water, a mocktail, or coffee, it disappears into anything.
Can it ship to my state?
Most states, yes. A handful restrict hemp-derived THC products regardless of the Farm Bill. Redwood Reserves will flag it at checkout if your state isn't eligible.
